Rene was born in Switzerland and came to the United States in 1957. He is a Vietnam Veteran, spending 3 years in the US Army. Most of his working years were spent in Stockton, California. He has been involved with Lions Club for over 40 years and is a past president of both the Stockton and Roseburg Lions. He served for 12 years on the Community Blind Center in Stockton; 2 years as president. Two days after retiring as the Information’s Systems Division Manager for San Joaquin County Worknet he and his wife Marilyn headed north to Roseburg. He is involved locally with Roseburg Lions, Roseburg Elks Lodge 326 and Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center and loves to travel.
