Our Cancer Survivors Day celebration is an annual, treasured Celebration of Life that is held in June of each year. It is a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an OUTREACH to the community. We gather to honor our communities’ cancer survivors and to show that life after a cancer diagnosis can be fruitful, rewarding, and even inspiring.

It is a day for everyone, whether you’re a cancer survivor, a family member, friend, or medical professional. Our celebration provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer to connect with each other, celebrate milestones, and recognize those who have supported them along the way.

This event features the “Circle of Survivors,” an activity during which every person in attendance has the opportunity to say a few words about their experience with cancer.

Our event is potluck style – The Community Cancer Center provides a catered main course, beverages and eating accoutrements. The survivor community brings a side dish to share. We will have a guest speaker, raffle prizes, survivor recognition.

Who is a cancer survivor? A cancer survivor is defined as; “anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life”. Our Cancer Survivors Celebration is an opportunity for your community to demonstrate that it has an active, productive cancer survivor population and to bring awareness to the challenges they face during and after treatment.

We hope you will join us in celebrating our Cancer Survivors along with their friends and families in June of each year.
