Page 3 - Summer 2016
P. 3

Wow summer is here! Hopefully the
fire season will be much more bearable than last year. Since our last addition
we have acquired two additional new staff members. I would like to welcome Albert Zacarias, PhD, DABR, as our Senior Medical Radiation Physicist and Jennifer Wright, RT(R)(T), as our newest Radiation Therapist. Both employees have a lot of experience in radiation oncology in past positions and the CCC is very lucky to have them on board.
This edition we are focusing on Prostate Cancer Awareness which you will find many articles focused on this very subject. Save September 27 for our Beards, Brew and Prostate Too event. More information will follow this edition on location and details on the mustache and beard contest.
Another very important upcoming event
is our Focus on Hope event. We changed the month for this event to August. Past events have been focused on breast
cancer because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, however, we would like to grow our event to focus on all cancer types. Mark your calendar for August 28th. We are starting early to avoid potential hot weather typically associated with August. The Race will start at 8:00 beginning and ending at the Community Cancer Center. Come out and support your cause. Rest assure that 100% of the proceeds raised at this event will stay in Douglas County to help bring cancer awareness and outreach and ensure patient treatment access.
We are looking for sponsors for this event.
If you would like to get involved contact Angelia Freeman at AFreeman@CCCRoseburg. org or call her at 541-673-2267. You can nd more information about our events on our website at www.CCCRoseburg.org.
