The Community Cancer Center is proud to announce that the Roseburg Zonta Club chooses one of our family as the 2016 Woman of Achievement. To be considered as
a Woman of Achievement the nominee must advance the status of women through the nurturing of their own daughters and by modeling outstanding behaviors in their families, careers and community.
The Woman of Achievement award shall be given to a woman who deserves recognition for her outstanding contributions and dedication to community, career and society.
Allison “Ally” Gottfried has accomplished remarkable personal, professional, and community goals to provide the scope of quality nutrition support and care she envisions for her clients and the public. Her intellectual curiosity and drive provides the basis for her continued accomplishments both in her profession as well as personal life. Roseburg and Douglas County should be very proud that we have such a wonderful professional serving our community.
Ally came to us in 2005, working as an oncology dietitian, providing nutrition support and counseling for cancer patients at risk for malnutrition, symptom management related to gastro-intestinal function and blood sugar management and established nutrition and weight loss counseling for the Survivorship Clinic patients at completion of their oncology treatment, in addition to conducting a dietary research study.
In addition to the wonderful work Ally does for our patients she also actively volunteers and contributes to our community by; organizing a children’s play, the Cancer Center’s contribution to the annual Dream Night at Wildlife Safari for children with cancer,
she volunteers as a consultant for the Douglas County Meals on Wheels program, she provides professional consultation to assure appropriate growth in “at risk” pediatric patients at the Feeding Clinic at CHI Mercy Medical Center, she is also an annual guest speaker on nutrition to students at the Umpqua Community College, she provides
public speaking engagements on a wide range of nutrition subjects including a monthly nutrition column in the News Review.
Congratulations Ally ~ We are proud of you!
